Custom Foot Orthotics

Custom orthotics are a medical device that is inserted into your shoes to provide optimal support to the structures of our feet and redistribute pressures placed onto muscles and joints of the lower limb. Orthotics provide relief and ongoing support to facilitate realignment of the knees, hips and spine. These medical devices act to correct and/or accommodate foot deformities and variety of conditions including:

  • Flat or High arches

  • Hammer toes

  • Arthritis

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Bunions

  • Metatarsalgia

  • Morton's Neuroma and more!

Our clinic provides comprehensive biomechanical assessments when prescribing custom orthotics. Additionally, orthotic casting is performed using either plaster of paris or 3D digital scanning. This allows us to capture the foot in a subtalar neutral position. The casts are then sent to an accredited orthotic lab to be manufactured.

Custom Foot Orthotics are not covered by OHIP, however most extended health insurance plans cover the orthotics partially or in whole. Please contact your insurance coverage prior to your appointment.

At the time of pick up, you will receive all the required documentation for insurance purposes including: a prescription, a biomechanical/gait analysis, an orthotics details, a lab manufacturing invoice, and an invoice for cost of the orthotics.
