Nail Brace

A nail brace is a custom made nail splint that attaches to both sides of the nail. Overtime, it gently lifts the painful ingrown nail into correct alignment.

Patients often feel instant relief when the nail brace is first applied. It is a similar process to teeth braces, however the brace is on your toe! This treatment requires a return visit every 4-6 weeks so the brace can be adjusted. Over time with the nail brace in place, the shape of the nail is corrected.

This treatment is a non-painful and non-invasive alternative to the surgical removal of ingrown nails. However, in some circumstances, conservative management is not advised therefore a partial or total nail removal is recommended.

The foot specialist can provide education and perform this nail procedure in clinic!
