Pediatrics

Do you notice your child walks on their tip toes? Does your child tire easily or dislike running and/or walking due to pain?

Your child may benefit from a foot assessment.

Many foot conditions start in the first few years of life and the earlier they are identified, the more successful the treatment.

At East Foot Clinic, we focus on pediatric conditions such as in-toeing, out-toeing, hip pain, flat foot, growing pains, pain with walking and running, and tip-toe walking.

We work with both you and your child to form the treatment plan best suited for your child’s needs.

More on In-toeing:

Intoeing is the most common reason for referral to pediatric chiropodists. Most causes of intoeing originate from the hip, femur, knee, tibia, foot, or a combination. Treatment of intoeing varies greatly depending on the age of the child and their development. Treatment options may include:

  • monitoring

  • parental reassurance

  • manipulations

  • exercises

  • orthotics

  • serial casting

  • splints/braces

  • footwear

  • altering sleeping or sitting habit

  • surgical referral

  • Gait Plates: a type of orthotic commonly seen in pediatrics, specifically used for intoeing or out-toeing. Gait plates for intoeing change the angle of foot propulsion, therefore causing the foot to become more neutral.
